Market at a glance
- Mexico’s strong economy has been a boost to Canada–overnight trips have increased on average 15 percent over the last 10 years.
- Mexican visitors average 14 nights and spend $1,420 per person per trip.
- Canada does not require a visa from Mexicans (the U.S. does).
- Most Mexicans travel to Canada on holiday (59 percent). The second reason is business (18 percent).
- Mexico has very wealthy and very poor residents, but not a large middle-class population. We target the wealthy travellers who tend to spend more on trips.
- Within this high-income group, we focus on the 30-to 40 year olds, childless and free to travel any time of year.
- We are targeting the curious traveller–those searching for inspiring personal experiences that will enrich their lives. This group is lively, spiritual and optimistic.
