Industry Update

H1N1 Influenza

As Canada’s national tourism marketing organization, the CTC is assessing and evaluating the impact the flu outbreak may have on its key marketing investments, its partnerships, and on the timing of its campaigns. CTC offices in its key global markets are monitoring developments as well, and will provide on-the-ground intelligence.

We are closely engaged with the Government of Canada and have made representations about tourism industry concerns, underscoring the value of the tourism industry to the Canadian economy. We will be proactive in communicating with our tourism partners as new information becomes available.

The CTC continues to pursue its strategy of inspiring the world to explore Canada, as its specific tactics evolve.
